The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a good option if you are on a tight budget and don't require a stroller that can be used as a car seat carrier. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip-flop user-friendly.

It's simple to push, and it feels solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Additionally, it's easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate lightweight single buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. This latest version features independent suspension on all four wheels made of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to 'perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 frame and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a chic pushchair with a delicate, elegant aesthetic. The frame's base weight is less than a kilogram, and is so light that it is able to be lifted from the box with one hand.

It's also easy to attach or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 by clicking and is machine washable at 30deg to remove staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It can also be transformed to a stroller by 6 months using the YOYO connect other chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents who are looking for an adaptable stroller. It can be converted from a stroller to a wagon by simply turning the handle, which means parents can choose the mode they prefer for their journey. The wagon can accommodate one or two children from 6 months to 5 years old. It has a large storage basket that will hold all your needs when you are on the move.

The Xplore also comes with two canopies that turn from the front to the back, offering ample sun coverage for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be ideal for long drives or napping.

The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy, although it does not have the same flexibility as other wagons we tried. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and it's not able to lock tight once folded. It is easy to move, however, and it can fit through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents seeking a second stroller that is affordable. It scored well in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight and compact when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk of a car. It also has a multi-position reclined seat and an integrated cup holder for the parent. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

In our test of push and turn, it did better than the majority of other strollers that we tried, but it's not the easiest to maneuver over uneven ground or through doorways that are narrow. Its sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger canopy sizes.

It took us under 3 minutes to put together the Delta with a manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. It's lacking certain features we believe are essential in a double stroller. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair, and is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to accommodate baby from birth up to around 3.5 years, converting easily between a carrycot and seat by just a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible baby carriage.

The seat can be reclined using one hand, and the big shopping basket makes it simple for parents to take their child in and out. Although it is narrow, the pushchair handled the everyday bumps well and slid through doors without a hitch.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward direction or rotate. This is useful in rough terrain. On our walk along the stony path we let them move and it handled this fairly well although it did seem a little bumpier than others in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain jogging strollers. However, they also manufacture a vast range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers we've tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels solid and well-constructed. It's a breeze to maneuver across all kinds of terrain, and it's easy to carry even with two children and shopping bags.

The carrycot and seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, unlike other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers faces.

It does not have much storage space but it has an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also pair it with the Baby Jogger car seat for babies up 20 lbs (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first rolled onto the scene, it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It is an aluminium-framed stroller that can be used from infant's first days until. It has a number of stand-out features including the possibility of flipping the seat between parent and the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has a flip out eyeshade and a spacious basket as well as an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are tough and filled with foam, which reduces the risk of punctures and the chassis has built-in suspension that eases the pain of rough terrain. It was easy to push, and our tester was able manoeuvre the vehicle through the narrow streets.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It also stands and can be carried by trolley for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes equipped with the ability to add a car seat and a carrycot using the included adaptors. The brakes are simple to use using a single stroller with bench seat action, colour coded and flip-flop compatible.

7. Babyzen Duet

This top single strollers pushchair that is budget-friendly is surprisingly easy to handle and features great dual suspension, one-hand fold and a convenient carry strap. It is also lightweight and sturdy. The seat can be reclined into a variety of different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress built in that is suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat has two large sun visors that are fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't the best as it’s not as quiet as Velcro, and can wake up napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin-mode, the seats can face each other or can turn around and face parents, theoretically reducing sibling disputes over who gets to sit with mom and dad. It comes with a huge gear tray, a bottle holder and snack trays. It also has an automated frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is the perfect jogger for parents who love to be active. It's one of the lightest running strollers that you can buy for your child and offers excellent safety features such as a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It also has a twist hand brake that's distinct from the lever-type that is found on other models.

The seat is comfortable and has plenty of room to sit in, but the seat's depth is not as deep as other joggers that we've tested (it's about 10"). The storage bin is covered with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold up to 10 pounds, which is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of infant car seats and bassinets, but you can use them from the very first day with adapters that will fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to put together with no tools. The user manual is easy to read and includes multiple languages.
